TRANSITIONAL CERTIFICATION
Guaranteed Organic Certification Agency offers Transitional Natural Crop Certification as a non-NOP scope for crop certification. GOCA transitional crop certification is designed for those producers that have begun their organic management systems but have not completed their regulated term for organic compliance.
Before the transitional crop grower qualifies for the GOCA Transitional Natural Crop Certification marketing seal, the producer must have managed the transitional crop using a compliant organic system’s plan for at least 12 months prior to the crop’s harvest.
The Transitional Crop Standard is a GOCA company standard. Except for the land history requirement, the GOCA Transitional Standard parallels the crop production and handling portions of the Federal Organic Standard in every other way.
The GOCA Transitional Natural Crop Certification is for the scope of crops only and the fees are the same as the fees listed in the crop section of the GOCA Organic Certification Fee Schedule. To get a quotation the client must first complete and submit the no-hidden-cost Transitional Application,
Consumers of GOCA certified natural transitional crops can rest assured that a complete third party inspection, monitoring and audit has been completed before the GOCA Transitional Seal can be used to market the product.
